MF 3080 value for Insurance

Just thinking of reviewing the insurance value of my MF 3080 4wd, autotronic 32 speed, 1989. It's in very good original condition with a Quicke Q950 loader. Currently valued at £10,500. Think I'd struggle to replace it for that.

Won’t cost you much more to put it up to 12 or even 14 with the loader.
You might not get all that off your insurance but you will probably get more than the 10 you now have it valued at.

If you make a claim the assessor will go on sales websites and value it at the cheapest on there, irrelevant to the figure you use

Yes to some extent that’s true; but they should also take into account any photographic evidence, service documents etc and in my experience they will make some upward allowance for condition and hours of a machine.

Obviously they ain’t going to give you way above market value, but at least if you value it on the high side you certainly stand a chance of getting a better deal than being too low.

Had a 50th anniversary landrover stolen. Insurance offered 4k after mega struggle got 8 insured value as stated £20k assessor argued for 3 moths that they could find similar for 4 on Ebay! Similar not 50th.
at the time Nene were offering similar for £30k
what really got me wound up was they spent £13k providing me with hire car

I can well understand there have been many such cases of derisory offers being made for write off vehicles.
All I can say is that in recent dealings with an NFU assessor we had a reasonably good deal after brief negotiation.
Not as high as my own valuation and the actual insured value, but fairly close and certainly at no time insultingly low.

But I had insured the vehicle slightly higher than average value and it was in above average condition. This was taken into account in negotiations and a reasonable settlement was agreed on this basis. Just citing my own experience.
