Is it rebuildable in situ??
Lost steering ,think the shaft from the steering wheel down to the 2 lay shafts has gone

Yes
Basically pull the arms off and out could be snapped pins the top nuts are usually bloody tight so is steering wheel
Heat the top nuts
Put new seals in also once disturbed they can leak

steering wheel was twatted of with the 4pounder
got the top 4 bolts loose ok but couldn't pull it out then give up as my knee was aching

Have you got the lock nuts loose on the steering worm shaft
They are usually interesting
