Mechanic told me that the worst thing ye can do is leavin a 42/43ps series sittin idlein with the shuttle not in neutral as the tractor has to be movin to keep it cool

It’s a while since I have done anything with these and I cannot remember if you should put into drive either f or R but the main gearbox in neutral or shuttle in neutral. One cuts the cooling off and I cannot remember for the life of me which way it is.

Help me !! What is the problems with dash light warning ??
The light with 2 gears is flashing? Can you count how many flashes and let me know, and I then may be able to assist..

Its a code so you should see a series of flashes, a pause, then another series of flashes.

yes , very good !
Hmm that's a tough one, it would suggest to me to be a poor wiring connection between the sensor and the ECU but if your rpm needle is working it could be discounted.
IMG_20200606_023900.jpg it seems more and more that these error codes need to be taken with a pinch of salt.. I recently had one that had loss of drive and despite changing the solenoid and loom as indicated by the code it turned out to be the ECU.

I know this is a slightly old post, but was anything ever found out to be causing your problem? Only reason I ask is because we just picked up a low hour 4355 with the 24sp transmission and it will intermittently turn the same lights on anywhere from initial startup to 30 or 40 minutes of runtime.

Tractor only has 241hrs on it and has spent most of it's life in a garage doing only hay work a couple of times a year. We've got filters and everything to service it, but with 200 hrs, they really shouldn't need servicing unless moisture has built up or something like that? I've noticed that doing something as simple as cutting it off and restarting a lot of times seems to take care of it for a little while anyway.

Another thing I noticed is the trans pump seems to be whining - the "full pump" valve was always in full pump setting for high output and when taken out of this position the whine goes away. Is it just a premature pump failure? We've actually had our own 4225 in this setting it's entire life, but it's never had a loader and it's also a regular manual shuttle 8 speed gearbox...

Maybe I should be posting this to a new thread, but I was able to play with it a little today - really the first time even driving the girl around any much.

The warning light only comes on when the shuttle is left in gear with trans out of gear and clutch released. The light blinks a 6-2 code? Even with the light on you can put the shuttle into neutral and it will go out. At least it's this way for the moment.

So just remember to put the shuttle into neutral and let her ride aside from doing all of the planned services??? Or does the code mean something I need to look into?

Thank You

The shuttle lever should always be in neutral if your not moving, leaving it in fwd or reverse while in neutral on the gearstick will cause damage hence the warning.

Code 6-2 is the road speed sensor, because your leaving it in drive on the shuttle, there should be a reading, but there is no movement as your in neutral on the stick, so it thinks the sensor is faulty.

Thank You. Actually something I was kind of hoping to hear :) Although seems really stupid to me that they designed something like this, but what do I know :/ I think they should have just stuck to the original dynashift with some minor mods...

As for the pump whine - normal on these or something I should look into?

And then the full pump control valve - does it hurt anything to leave in this position all of the time?

Thank you again.

The 42/43 series castings go back to the old 165 185 tractors and as such I doubt they could have fitted all the dynashift gubbins into the units. Its deffinatly in a different league to the 6200 series of the time, but the powershuttle is quite handy, ours has been very good until it turned 5k hours and has since been dogged with electrical problems. New ecu a few months back was just shy of a grand and I then had to pay someone to calibrate it.

The auxiliary hydraulics are driven by a chain in the rear casting and does whine a little but Is quite normal. The combination valve or dual flow is handy and makes loader work, or simply tipping a trailer super fast, Ive never found any trouble leaving it in for a days work apart from the rear linkage dropping over time.

There was zero chance of getting dynastift into these as u say the castings go back 40yrs. It was hard enough getting this power shuttle in as I know some of the guys who designed it

Hello there, our Mf 4270 24/24 power shuttle is popping up a hydraulic clutch warning light ( cog with a line thru it) after about 1/2 an hour driving flat out . No other codes etc coming up . It is still driving perfectly . Have changed various switches and sensors and swapped solenoids from another tractor but no joy. It will put light on when stationary and left revving . The loader hydraulic circuit was disconnected to rule out loader spool block but still coming on . I have an laser type thermometer and transmission casing is getting to about 56 degrees c when light comes on , oil cooler doesn't get as hot . Mechanic is baffled . Would be grateful to anyone with experience of these tractors if they could give us a few pointers as to what to try next or who to contact . We are in n. Ireland
Did you ever find out the problem ? I had a similar problem on mine and it was the F/R shuttle lever, original Cobo F/R shuttle lever is available from QTP for half the money that MF sell them at .

Did you change the sensor and did it fix it?

We have the same code on our low hour 4355, typically comes on after an hour or so and just like yours went out when put into neutral. Bit wary to pull the trigger on a £200+ sensor if that's not it

Cheers!
