OK thanksYou only need wedges if you intend to lift the back of the tractor from the centre. Make sure you put axle stands under each side so it's safe to remove any wheels
OK thank you.Take great care and use proper axle stands, just jacking in the centre is inviting accidents and possibly death. Always wedge the front axle when jacking both the wheels off the ground either end.
A friend of mine a few years ago had pro tyre fitters out to swap tyres in farm workshop. They jacked up in centre and had both wheels of just before tractor slipped off the jack. I can't remember now if anyone was hurt but fairly modern tractor was damaged. If they’re normal wheels and not cast and not full of water crack the wheel nuts when it’s on the floor, pair of axle stands with appropriate SWL under the trumpet housing as far apart as possible, trolley jack or bottle jack under the hitch and lift the wheels clear. adjust the axle stands to support the load and slightly drop the jack so that both stands are weight bearing. Then, and only then remove the wheels. Way too often I see people removing a wheel with only a jack and then popping an axle stand under it
They are normal wheels with no water ballast. Are the rear wheels the ordinary type or cast type?
Are they water ballasted?
The way described is not how I do it
