We’ve got a 590T 4wd from 1981. It has a loader and is operated by the two spool valve levers. I’m wondering what position of the hydraulic controls is the correct position for using the loader. It has the hydraulic quadrant and a selector lever with external 1, neutral external, and external 2 positions, which of these positions should the tractor be in for loader work and does the hydraulic quadrant position effect the loader?

If you're 590 has an auxiliary pump which I'm sure it will have then the spool valves should be fed from that making them independent of the linkage, in which case just leave the selector valve lever in linkage, the position lever in the transport position and the draft lever in the up position.
