MF 6180 1000 pto selection

Morning all,

I am borrowing a neighbors power harrow, It needs to be run on 1000pto but through a 540 shaft. I dont have a lever in the cab to select 1000pto. Reading the operators manual its says there is a lever on the left hand side of the shaft output to change it.
For the life of me i cant see it. Drawing in the operators manual is no help.

The 62 series is to the left of the pto guard, 61 i thought you had to change the shaft.

61 series was a stub shaft,,6 Allen studs. well the 70, 80,,and 90 we had was that design

The shaft is held in with a Circlip, no allen bolts. Only lever in the cab is for Eco pto.

61 series is a different stub inside the tractor to engage with the 1000 rpm gears so it's a 21 spine shaft you need

You gave to swap shafts then ,,back it up on a couple of sturdy blocks to stop the oil running out. hood pair of grips on the clip ,,its easy to change

As above, you need a 1000 shaft.
There is a switch by the PUH lift buttons in cab, to change the dash PTO readout.

The 540 shaft knuckle is 6 splines, unless the harrow has a 21 spline end then no you cant

No you need a 1000 yoke on harrow, or a 1000/540 adapter on end of this 1000 shaft.

If you wont use it again, or if only small amount to do, sounding cheaper to have neighbour do job tbh.

From the late eighties to year 2000. I had MF 3000/6100/ and 6200 series tractors, all had stiftable pto's,. So you basically a 4 speed PTO and did not have to change PTO stub. So they are about. But sorry it doesn't help you. I thought every MF was the same.

Our 6170-80 and 90were all S reg 98-99,,might have been the premium models, stub pto ,better hydraulics, never remember if that's closed or open centre ,air seats with swivel and that float position,selectable pto via the lever instead of having to change the shaft which was handy for fert spreading as it ran at 1150rpm to get 540 pto ,they all had dramone push out puh,,
The 90 had a wider weight tray ,16 x45kg with a 63 center towing block ,,great tractors to spend all day in
