mf 6180 clutch issues

Hi

I got a mf 6180 from 1997 with dynashift only done 2900h, where the clutch disengagment wont work.
I can start the tractor with gear in and it will drive away.

Tested the 17 bar port and its working as the manuel says.

Also tested the 2 valves under the cab and seems to be working ok. Are they PWM powered ?

I noticed that the tortoise / hare will stick in its gear some times and there is no light showing wich one is in (dosen't matter if tractor is on or off) (all dash lights working when i hit the clutchpedal)

Steering, loader, 3p is working ok

Any suggestions are welcome.....

Hi

Yes Its been bled a couple times, no air comming.

Oil and filters changed about 100h ago.

Also the hare Light is working but not the tortoise. The gearstick get stuck sometimes when changing to tortoise / hare.

Cheers

sounds like it could be a broken disc in the clutch so it keeps driving when you have your foot on the clutch to disengage it . the discs break up and get between two discs so it keeps driving. hope that makes sense ? there are 5 wearing discs and 5 spacer discs so when the lining comes off it jams everything up so keeps driving

Hi

Yes Its a possible fault... Is it a common fault?

I'm trying to test everything before splitting the tractor.

It has a loader on with huge heavy brackets.

Is there a risk of lots of bits and debries in the gearbox if this happens?

Cheers

Finally i had the time to splitt the tractor.

The discs are no good anymore

What do you think about the debries in bottom of the clutch ?

Any risk of going in the hole system ?

I´m thinking of buying the clutchparts here

and

Should be the right parts ?

If you don't mind me asking was your 6180 real jerky with the clutch or anything before this happened? Just wondering what might have caused the disc to break...

Mines grabbing up really high - just started this out of the blue about 3 or 4 years ago - got a feeling that my dad running the tractor caused some premature clutch wear...

Would highly recommend replacing your dampener while you have it split - most common problem I know of on these. As for your dash light, these things seem to blow the cluster back lights every other year or so - I replace a few of mine about that often... Thinking of going led replacements? Sorry can't help you out any on your questions.

Any one know if marking has any meaning on this picture, next to the shaft ?

I noticed that the tractor been splitted before, the hydraulic hoses been colourcoded with straps.

That tractor has the old type clutch drive set up in it ,how old is it ?

Is there a way to order this "old style" setup? To delete the dampener all together? Only reason I ask is because I know mine should be a 96 model and the whole reason the previous owner traded it in was because the dampener had failed causing a complete loss of all drive and hydraulic control. Just wondering if it ever failed again if it was possible to go this route? Of course the dampener has it benefits for softer clutch engagement, which I guess helps to reduce clutch failure, but which is worse? Dampener would be easier to replace, but even if it fails would you not remove the clutch packs for inspection anyway?

Don't know. Still think lack of dampener might be better...

OK, so did a little parts digging - up to serial F058048 didn't use the dampener. Would it hurt anything going back to the solid setup or are there other components that would require changing?

shaft not available new other parts are though. there must be a good reason mf stopped using it ? maybe when the spline wears you need both parts which is a lot more than a damper ?

Aero the markings dont mean anything i see all sorts of numbers and markings on the inside of castings never been able to make sense of them. i suppose there will be a meaning though
