Ihave to take the top cover off my 6180 to replace the inner PTO shaft bearing which has collapsed. When I have removed the lft arms and the spool block will the top cover come off without removing the cab?
Thanks for any replies

Certainly don't need the cab off. the front studs are hard to get to and the pipe to the diff lock isn't easy, watch out for the crownwheel speed sensor. You may need to release the rear cab mounts, lever up an inch or so and put some spacers in to hold it up.
Make sure you get all the old bearing rollers out, dont want one going through the crownwheel. Make sure the cross shaft lift arm bolts are tight when cover goes back on, can make a mess of the position sensor and cam if loose.
I will presume you need to replace the inner bearing because it got damaged when the shaft pulled out, check the square section circlip that holds in the shaft and the bit with the groove in it where the circlip sits.
Yes I think when the shaft came out it damaged the inner bearing so will be replacing the circlip and checking the groove. Its not a bad old tractor only done 5000 hrs but needs the shuttle fork doing now,Years ago I wolud have chopped it in for something new but with the price of new kit I think I will get it repaired.I also find it very comfortable to drive.
One of the main reason for wear on the shaft sleeve groove and circlip is the implement PTO shaft. May slide in and out ok when stationary, but turning under load and raising / lowering implement is putting huge push / pull forces on the tractor shaft.
