MF 6290 handbrake cable and brakes?

I have replaced the handbrake cable on my MF 6290 (9400hrs)but handbrake will not hold tractor/trailer with cable fully adjusted, unless I have adjusted cable incorrectly!!!!. I think the internal brake pads/bands or whatever they are must be worn out. Are they very easy to replace? I must add I am not great with spanners and I do not have a workshop, just a concrete floor!!!!! Any suggestions /help appreciated, I just use the tractor for pulling my forwarding trailer/crane about clearing up the odd wind blown tree, but as very hilly ground top rate brakes/handbrake essential. Thankyou

most likely one of the discs has shattered but first there is a access plate on the left of the tractor in front of the rear axle about half way up at the back of the plate there is a 24m headed bung. remove that you should be above the oil level. then 17 mm socket on a foot long extension TAPE IT ON YOU DONT WANT TO LOOSE IT push it in you should feel the adjusting bolt give it half a turn and see what its like
