Starts and runs ok but lots of electrical things not working, pto, fwd, 3 point hitch, Rev counter( fuel gauge working). The fwd light comes on when we put the clutch down to start it as it should then goes out. The strange looking fuse at the side of the engine between the starter motor and the lift pump seams ok. Have I missed anything else that’s obviously?

Two cables from the battery, yellow wire and a red wire. Both feed the autotronics box under cab step. Yellow is transmission, red does PTO and lift. They’re fused very close to batteries and then if connections and fuses are ok trace them back. If batteries in the front the tractor will have a plug at bellhousing for splitting, connections can rot in the plugs. Ideally you need to use a bulb to test the feed not a multileter. There’s a few soldered shunts as you get near the autotronic box as Well that oxidise and fall apart.

Have a few searches on here, been many threads about Masseys electrical gremlins, same setup from 3000 to the 62, 61,81 etc

Battery’s are under the steps, forgot to include dynashift in my list of things not working. It sounds like it’s the red and yellow cable that’s the problem, which I’m sure would be unusual for them to go at the same time. Might be the auto tonic box. Thanks for the advice with have an investigation tomorrow.

Don‘t have much experience with later ones with battery under cab but the others both cables are connected to battery positive with one ring connector, these can snap off. Has it all just come on suddenl?

Had a rat get in there on mine overnight a few years back, chewed the cables to the Autotronic box, took a bit of bodge to get them all conected again

Re think!! Does the dash usually wake up when you press the clutch pedal down? Clutch switch can play up aswell and nit waje the autotronic box but the clutch pedal switch is age related or more yo the point, autotronic version related IIRC.

With the Rev counter not working, I would be looking at the alternator,
As if alternator not working right, then everything thinks the tractor is not running, and nothing will work that relies on charging working, and rev counter is off alternator,
Is fan belt ok ?

Dads been looking at it as I’ve been out all day, will get an update in the morning. Will check alternator if we have made no progress
