Mf 6290

I am working at a 6290 that has a drive fault. The error code for faulty Reed switches in the f/r shuttle lever is on and it will drive in one direction but when you go to change direction, de-clutching or not, it will bring on the orange exclamation mark, beep and either stop driving or stick in that direction. I have changed the lever, which solved the problem for a day but it is doing it again, one of the round plugs at the auto 3 was corroded, cleaned it but it made no difference, I am now wandering if it could be rotten on the back side and if there is a way to split it? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Sorry only getting back chaps, not pressure related does seem to be electrical but I cannot find a faulty wire, all continuities check out etc.

Did you check out the brass switch on the clutch pedal. It can cause all sorts of trouble. Alternator voltage extremely important too

I replaced the auto 3 on this tractor about 3-4 months back, it was sticking in low range as calculator was corroded, I also programmed another new one in a few days back just to be sure it wasn’t a faulty new unit, but made no difference. Really at my wits end! Lol

So your still getting a Reed switch fault. You changed lever and problem was solved for 1-2 days. I would suspect a bad connection on harness to the switch. There are a bunch if resistors in that switch so it is sensitive so a bad connection which could alter the voltage of the return signal

I have been over the loom in the cab several times, removed the inline resistor behind the plug for the shuttle lever as that can annoy some of them, but can’t see anything, all continuities etc. Seem ok, I have checked a few plugs outside for corrosion etc. But was wandering if the speed matching on the armrest could be playing up or something and causing it

Any luck? I have a 6270 doing the same thing.
