Do you mean its ideas like this that made space travel possible
no i mean, the fact you said it was worth SFA, yet its a multi power even you say does not work, it would still be worth a lot more that a half decent old tractor, to sell it, and buy the likes of an international / Leyland davy broon, you would still have change left over ,

also if the multi power is not working very good as you said, remeber it needs to be in high every so often, as its the leak off the front of the MP pack that lubs the front bearing in the gearbox, so if allways run in low, front bearing will get no oil

I'd imagine it would be hard to get that for a 65, unless someone had one lying in the shed.
I never saw one before, on a high up drag link like that

that came from Ron greet about ten years ago, but if anyone buys one make sure you get the arm that clamps to the bottom of the steering pin and connects to the track rods because it is different from none power steering
some tractors had it from new and most 65 based industrials

The standard power steering is ok if working right,, but will drive a sane man mad trying to
set up a non working one. Just put all the steering bits in a box for posterity, and fit an orbital
set up from another source such as a dumper or davy broon

You wouldn't want to go on the neighbours, unless there different with you ................
In their defense, I think it was hard to get the same level of assistance in both directions, if memory serves me correct. If you had a bad ball joint, it would be even harder.
You're not a Zetor man ..................

the trouble is when there is some wear in the valve linkage the power steering stops working, some will try to correct this by messing with the valve linkage which is the right thing to do if you have lost the steering in one directing
if you have lost it in both directions you have to slacken off the tapered adjuster so you have more free play so the valve will work again, this is fine if you only use the tractor round the yard but like any play in a steering system you can end up with the front wheels wobbling a higher speed

had a 7245 with loader for many happy years, apart from it refusing to work christmas days.
did about 5000 hrs and cost very little in repairs once we sorted the steering, although to be fair
most tractors of that era were pretty bomb proof, unlike today

Update. I got a power steering pump from a mf165. It fits the bolt holes etc but the teeth on the gear is different on my pump to suit my flywheel. So will see if there is a replacement gear to be got to suit my tractor then i should have pump working. Then i will splash out and get the orbital and ram. I think total spend will be less than £200 all going well picking up bits secondhand

That pump you have must be off the younger 212 Perkins, I think the pump was on the other side.
Well it knew it was Christmas ...............

First time i played with one it seemed simple. took me several days! to get it right
As soon as you touch it wheels go straight to lock first one side then other. Nightmare never do one again :)
