MF40 not starting...

Hi All

New to this with my first tractor being the above mentioned Massey Ferguson industrial MF40. It hasn't been run for a while and after installing a new battery, turning the ignition nothing happens. Weather is not allowing me to check (I don't yet have a nice shed to store it in), so I thought I could get some pointers on where to start looking. Any suggestions will be gratefully received as I want to get the old girl running.

Cheers

Chris

The high/start/low lever needs to be in the start position.
I tried that after a friend who has a 135 suggested his doesn't start if not in the right position. Difficult to tell with mine as there are no markings on the levers. I'll maybe just try in each position. Just so I'm moving the right one, is that the long or short lever? I did say I was new to this!!! Lol

AFTER making the tractor is in neutral, you could try shorting out on the solenoid between the small wire (often on a spade connection ) and the positive heavy feed.
I guess making it think it's in neutral? I do that on my bike because replacing the neutral switch is a ball ache
