MF5455 handrail work lights

I have an MF 5455 with basic 2 work lights in the roof front and back. I would like to add lights to the handrails to shine around the loader. Does anyone know if it is just a case of getting lights, relay and switch or is anything else required? Also any locations of where the relay and fuses go would be helpful.

The lights would normally be on top of the side light/indicator units rather than the handrails and I'd think the wiring will already be in there. (T'was on my 6270). Just a matter of finding the right connector on the loom behind the left hand side panel on the dash, for the switch and pushing the relay into a spare socket.Whichever one brings the lights on.

I used a simple metal toggle switch and am nearly sure it was a standard 4 pin relay for the like of car spot lights that plugged straight in. Can be had for a couple of pounds.....

Ok thanks, I’ll have a proper look. I’ve already found the handrail wiring, was just the dash stuff I was thinking about really. If a small loom to go to a carling switch is needed should be easy enough to knock up.

Did you get sorted with this? I fitted the additional lights to the handrails of our 5440 and used @UTV Products lights which are a great addition.

You need to buy the 4276107M2 loom, a switch and a relay. The additional loom connects to a block connector below the dash which is between the pedals behind the cover. Once connected with the relay and switch this then puts power to the connectors in the handrails.

I'm going to do the mudguards next but that involves running wire to the mudguards and taking a live from the ignition switched through a relay. Nervous about drilling the plastics is my only concern really.

Hope this helps?

Connector is in the centre of the image.

I copied the MF loom and made it myself rather than paying for it.

Thanks, that is helpful. It’s on the list, I only do fitting for the old man on weekends, got another job in the week so depends on when I get to it. I had envisaged making a small loom like you have. Someone earlier said it is £100 for genuine which is just ridiculous

Brilliant, thanks for this.
