MF675 - front axle leaking oil

Hello.
I was changing the oil on the front axle yesterday. I drained all the old oil out according to the workshop manual.
Then I filled on the axle with 4,5l, and after that 1,6l on the right wheel, and last starting to fill on the left wheel.
After filling about 0,5l i noticed it startet dripping oil out of between the frontaxel and intermediate gear (?) (see picture 1).

So my questions :
1) My best guess is that I need to replace part number 38 og 39 (see picture 2)?
2) Do I need to split the tractor between the front axle and the engine, or is it possible without splitting it?

You don't need to split the tractor. Remove drive shaft and 4 nuts on rear support and 4 nuts and 2 bokts on front support, Jack the tractor and take the rear support off. Unfortunately you are likely to find the diff support is worn where the oring sits. Yours may have been modified to take a seal instead of an oring but if not your support can be machined to take one. A seal can cope with a bit more wear on the diff housing. We changed loads, some more than once.

Thank you, this was very helpfull. Guess I need to take it apart to check the conditions of things.

Odd that it should start leaking badly at an oil change. Was there any sign of a leak beforehand?
Yes, a little bit. But it seems not leaking to much until the total amount of oil gets over some level? So I guess it was to little oil before changing it, since it was just dripping a bit before.

I used to keep a modified housing in stock and probably have one somewhere if your isn't already modified. I can give you the measurements to machine yours to accept a seal or I might sell it to you as I don't think I'll need it anymore

Thank you very much for your offer MF-ANDY. I will let you know when I (hopefully) get the parts off to examine the condition.

What ever you do, when you refit the axle, fit the thickest washer between the front support and axle to minimise end float. Then come in 3 sizes and you can always get the thickest one in.

Just to make sure I dont missunderstand MF-ANDY, I've taken the drive shaft off. And then need to take off these 4x2 nuts and 2 bolts (in picture 1.jpg and 2.jpg) before I jack the tractor?

The 4 bolts holding the rear housing on in picture 3. Not the 4 in the second picture. The 4 nuts and 2 bolts that hold the front bracket with the grease nipple to the tombstone. All nuts/bolts are 15/16" (24mm)

Thank you, I've found them. Just need to find out how to loosen them (cant fit my compressor-tool in front for the 2 bolts) :)

That looks like lip seal so it's been modified. Just need a new bush and seal then. I'm guessing the top side of the diff housing will be worn more than the side you show in the photo as that's where the weight is??
What is the front pivot bush like?

@MF-ANDY : Sorry about the late reply :) I've changed the lipseal several times now, and allso tried a (SKF) EasySleeve to see if that help, but it still dripping abit (less then before though). Dont know what else to do now, so just have to refill abit of oil every now and then I guess?

Have you fitted the largest thrust washer that you can on the front pivot and checked it for wear?
I dont think I've seen them with different sizes here in Norway. Do you have link og partnumber these I can search for on ebay or some other foreign website? Thanks.

Hello. Is this same kind of overhaul with 690? My own good old mf seems to start leaking just as assys 675. Those pictures looks similar first hand.....
thanks for your information
