Just watched Michael Gove on the Andrew Farce show .
Very impressed with the way he handled the questioning . Never been a fan of his since he was environmental sec but he is beginning to sound like a future PM .
Anyone else think this ?
Such a shame I missed it, Michael has only been bettered by Boris in his steadfastness during the our dark time with C19.
I must remember to put them both on my Christmas card list that is if they gallantly defy all the odds and save Christmas

Gove knifed Boris in the back.

No government is the sum of one man. A PM is probably the most removed person from any detailed situation - all management jobs require delegation.

He's a knob. IMHO his interpretation of education and environment make him a pregnant goldfish as well.

How did he knife Boris in the back?

During the Conservative PM elections rounds where Theresa May was elected by default. Gove threw a spanner in Boris's election candacy by stating he would be a terrible PM, Boris withdrew his election campaign for PM as a result.

Or in other words there was a possibility of having Boris instead of May .. so Brexit would have been a year or so further on by now.

I don’t doubt that Michael Gove is a clever man. He uses his ability to further his own career first and foremost.
The problem with him is he believes he knows better than the experts on most subjects. As such he is dangerous. He has singlehandedly almost destroyed the beet industry here by banning the neonic seed coating against expert advice. I remember at the time of the ban he dismissed expert advice out of hand and went with his own populist prejudice as he thought it would appease the middle class guardian readers. He’d sunk to a new low IMO. Willing to betray an industry to boost his own popularity without a shred of scientific evidence to back up his decision. He encapsulates everything that is wrong with modern Tories.

And where were these modern tories when Nigel was doing the heavy lifting? Waiting to see which way the wind was going to blow, that’s where. Then when the momentum became unstoppable they switched sides just like the Tsars advisors and henchmen headed up the communist party after the revolution. Same old same old self serving clique. No knighthood for Nigel. He didn’t fit in.

Is Gove's opinion the only one that counts when it comes to conservative party elections ?
