Mid Tier Offers

Did I read on here somewhere that 2017 applications have opened?

We had a flier come last week advertising meetings to promote 2017.
The Application window is now open, paperwork has to be ordered by July 31st and offers close on 30th September.

Having read this thread and others, re non payment etc. I would have thought that trying to sign up people for 2017 was a tad - insensitive?

still waiting here................

think i might just tell them to forget it, it only just worthwhile anyway and I was doing it more to try increase the diversity and nature on the farm rather than any financial gain

You can do that anyway, without employing the hassle of ten people and a carp computer system to look over your shoulder?

I probably will do with more bias towards our little game shoot I'm starting to develop

however farmers are not environmentally charities and there is only so much I can afford to take from production of cover the cost of seed and inputs on

what annoys me is the waste of public money on these people processing applications that are clearly just not doing their job

If you don't have any options to actually put in until after harvest, I can't see why you would want to give it up now. If it wasn't a good idea in the first place, then it isn't a good idea now. If it was, then it still it is. We're getting a pretty sizeable amount each year. No way I would do that for free. Just wait. You will get a response. I think they might have been sending out the applications with the highest point scores first, but don't know. Our main application had a really high point score, and our second one was much lower. They came out in that order.

Would be interesting to hear what the uptake has been? Whether it's been enough to use all of the years budget up or rolled forward to this year because of poor uptake.....

(or just wasted on bureaucracy:rolleyes: I'm not cynical.....)

Well our mid tier offer arrived yesterday, 4 months and 3 days after it should have started. What a bloody joke.

As BPS is already sorted and planted up the land we had earmarked for options,it's going in the bin.

After 10 years of ELS and some land in an ESA for 20 years, we're out,

Bloody furious

That was my fear, I'd applied for £20k of capital items, so I don't fancy bankrolling it, and how they delayed my application I can't see them paying too quickly.

I'm still waiting for my mid tier offer which in theory started on Jan 1st 2017. A CS claim form needs to be in by 15th May but can this be done if no offer has been made?. No claim form no payment?

What claim form is this? I was expecting a claim form to be put in next year, but not this one. Have I missed something?

I am no expert so don't take my word as gospel but when I have chased NE for the offer they have said that they would send a claim form with it. I know that neighbours who have already received an offer are expecting the form online but it has yet to show up.Last year under HLS I was constantly phoned and e-mailed with reminders.

Ah, I better give them a ring. Thanks.

Had one claim form through only a few days ago. Sent that back, but no sign of the other one. Rang them up to ask where the other claim form was. Said they'd been rather busy sending applications out. Held tongue. Asked them to post our other one out asap. Apparently forms still need to be in by 15th otherwise you get fined. DEFRA thinking of extending deadline but haven't decided for sure yet! Anyway, claim form arrived today and they'd only gone a posted it 2nd class. Need all the partners to sign. One in Cuba (which has almost no internet access), the other in Holland and yet another in Italy, so how they think we're meant to return it by Monday is anyone's guess.

@Guy Smith, I hope we're not going get fined for late claim forms under these circumstances. Surely this is a force majeure.
