Silicone or rubber dairy milk liners? Which is best? I think silicone will last longer, but more expensive?

Silicone only need replacing when they tear, rubber slowly breaks down from exposure to chemicals and needs replacing because the rubber surface breaks down.
So silicone for hygiene and longevity.

I know of a farm that's on it's 5th season with silicone liners and they're still as good as new.

I use square liners (so I'm restricted to rubber), which I replace every year (although if I follow the instructions, they should be replaced every 4.5 months or so).

Sure rt require reciepts for new milk liners each year so how does the 5 years work?

Rubber usually 2500 milkings or 6mths is the recommendation. (Delaval Evanza 5000 milkings).
Silicone usually 2x that of rubber.
Some silicone liners suffer from fat migration through the liner and need to be removed and cleaned.

Thinking silicone might be the best way to go then. Any recommendations for brands/companies?

When we milked in the parlour it was 2500 to 2800 milkings per set, square rubber Fullwood ones (think QA28S), any more and a noticible drop in production and rise in mastitis. Robots in 4 years and exact same liners will do 7500 milkings with no drop off in litres/problems. Went over 9000 before. The only thing is that the more you go over 6000 ish the less they like the new sets for a few days. Our dealer has only one customer on silicone, tried on others and went back
