Milk price drop!

No I am saying that, that is why the shop price didn't drop as much as the farmgate price.

Unless 100% of the milk used by supermarkets didn't drop in price at the farmgate then clearly they were making higher profits at farmers expense when the milk price crashed just like they are with spuds currently!

They have long term contracts with processors. The price they pay to get milk likely doesn’t change until the do a new contract.

I see from Ian (Harry) Potter that two Glanbia suppliers have thrown their toys out of the pram at the price drop already. Guess someone will have to take up that slack .......

I see there's a thread on Agricultural Matters about supermarkets putting milk prices up. And also that butter price rises are being mentioned in relation to today's inflation figures.

Yet some farmers are still going on about oversupply?

FFS, fight your corner farmers.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
