That’ll probably be a “Mighty Meaty” then?
I‘ve no idea but Phil Leigh (ex buyer) was inordinately proud that the Glanbia development kitchen had come up with the stuffed crust.
WTF , that was 15 years ago and nothing since

You need to set aside some time to get that vat number sorted or even pay someone.3 month lag with a basket price, still not got my vat number and January+February being my lowest production months = very tight for cash!
It only got submitted at Christmas because I did it, I paid my accountant to do it for me who promised on several occasions last year he had done it when he hadn't (for reference this accountant won't answer my phone calls but will answer dad's so I've never spoken to him - yes I am indeed looking for a new accountant). So it's just a waiting game now for them to actually look at it (rang last week and it's in the queue to be seen)You need to set aside some time to get that vat number sorted or even pay someone.
How much chasing have you done since Christmas.
This is the most important thing to your business this week.
What happens if it turns out you can't claim back all the vat paid so far.
Yes ,I know Phil, as I was a supplier years ago. Actually he's a very decent guy.I‘ve no idea but Phil Leigh (ex buyer) was inordinately proud that the Glanbia development kitchen had come up with the stuffed crust.

didn't potter say 1 coffee shop just refused to pay more ?
the problem with pricing, is largely our own fault. We, and the NFU, keep saying we need more for our milk, absolute truth.
But we have been saying that for years, COP figures are quoted to show a need for more.
Look at it from the 'other' side, everyone is clamouring for us to pay more, but we have never been short of milk, we can get all we want/need, at the price we pay, where's the problem ? there isn't one. It is only when they cannot get enough milk, on a regular basis, and spot price is high, for a prolong period, will they seriously consider their pricing structure,
can remember at college being told 'long life treated milk', would be the main supply, we had a taste, and all decided no ! and proved right. On the continent most is, l believe.CoP aligned producers are busy trying to bin off their contracts pdq as they are lagging behind the rest of us. Wasn't so long ago that they were blowing us out of the water buying cows so sniff it you cryarse bishes
UK is a net importer of dairy products esp cheese. We are fairly unique in our liquid milk demand in Europe though

perhaps its a case of the 'big boys' aka s/mkts saying, ##off till your present contract with us expires. And we all know s/mts are nice, warm hearted benign beings, don't we.Why are they lagging so far behind? Surely Feed Fert and fuel linked contracts should be quite lucrative or are they not priced like that anymore?
As far as I’m aware they work on a rolling average over a set period of time. They should start jumping soon in big amounts or something in the system is broken & everyone would soon leave. All the other milk prices haven’t gone up because the processors feel sorry for the farmer as his costs have risen. Its simply a lack of milk. Why are they lagging so far behind? Isn't it partly a smoothing mechanism .Why are they lagging so far behind? Surely Feed Fert and fuel linked contracts should be quite lucrative or are they not priced like that anymore?
You could always turn your cows out and let them do there own harvesting.Problem with price increases is the 6 week lag.
When fuel has jumped over 50ppl within 10 days then there are going to be some serious strains on the OD

Housed AYR and organic are going to come under more pressure than anyone else in the next month or two.

That's just business .Think about it guys. All the fuel that has been price hiked in the last fortnight was probably bought, paid for and in the refineries a month ago. The fuel companies are Royally shafting everyone. And the Government is happy as they are raking in ££££'s on the increased VAT revenues.
Why organic? I'm currently looking at supplying the conventional milk market with organic milk. You ask why? Because if you look at the investment we have made in our soils to grow lots and lots of grass without N being purchased in a bag, and we have cows that arnt reliant on high concentrate I honestly think that we are able to produce milk cheaper is some ways than conventional systems that are dependent on bagged N and concentrate. I honestly think there is going to a merger driven by economics that will bring conventional + organic farming very close together learning the best from both systems. You could always turn your cows out and let them do there own harvesting.
