Silly buggers should have crossbred them, apparently they can milk off thin airView attachment 1042031
Needing 11 loads of corn a week and receiving 4 isn’t going to be good new long term for them
Breeding is nothing special. Always bred for positive fat and protein percentages for last 30+ years and feed maize, grass/grass silage tmr with protein blend and up to 10-12kg of cake through robots depending on tmr density. At the moment nothing giving less than 18 litres gets cake.Awesome production. Can I ask what your breeding and feeding please

Aug we will see 2 p for seasonality and 8p of announced price rises.
So as it stands 55p with the above qualities. Shame they don't do 40l each aswell!
4th July. Unlike lazy I love sending milk, so 4th July will be an upsetting day.Very good quality. When do you start drying off?
You’ll learn4th July. Unlike lazy I love sending milk, so 4th July will be an upsetting day.
Actually milking the cows is not too much more hardship than faffing around with dry cows and the such.
Mortgage free I'd farm very differently I agreeYou’ll learn
100% agree. Have 10 mil of assets and not use it as leverage would be a wasteThe wrong way. Any farm business with zero debt against it is going backwards. Tin hat on.

Still there, on demolition at the moment and it feels good.Have you still got the farm at Holsworthy or did you move?
Needs to start with a 7 if not 8 to make up for the past 12 + monthsOmsco 11p rise from 1st July to 48ppl
Needs to start with a 5!
Maybe they will still have a supplier by the end of the year?Omsco 11p rise from 1st July to 48ppl

I’d hope 50 for sept is well behind the packFreshways 45ppl for standard litre July, aiming to pay for 50ppl for September. Interestingly they claim they are seeing no consumer resistance or drop off in demand even at current prices
Sid has put the price up for flat all year production.Maybe they will still have a supplier by the end of the year?
I have no idea what has happened within omsco but heads need to roll for how poor their performance has been.
Seems to be their thing at the moment, announce a price 2 months ahead that sounds great at the time. 2 months later that price is turning out to be average or below average. Very weird times thoughI’d hope 50 for sept is well behind the pack
I’m not so sure. Unless something drastic happens with fuel prices lowering then milk price will be forced to climb againSeems to be their thing at the moment, announce a price 2 months ahead that sounds great at the time. 2 months later that price is turning out to be average or below average. Very weird times though
I can’t see much more than 50p being paid for a standard litre for the winter, unless the liquid market regains its premium position over basic commodities. The supermarkets need to be short of milk for the liquid price to go higher
Milk prices.com standard litre price IIRCSid has put the price up for flat all year production.
I think we will be looking closer to 46ppl - transport. Needed after this month 36ppl, plus the last couple months like it, bill have jumped as much as the conventional market, contractor silage costs all risen again in the last fortnight understandable, we do needed it starting with 5.
