Milk Price Tracker

Interesting league table from barbers this month
We end up 8th with 10.28 solids 9 others had better solids than us with first place doing a massive 11.08 solids or 43.519p before seasonality.only 10 didn’t reach the standard litre and of those only 6 didn’t produce the standard litre fat and protein.

More interestingly is the thermoduric results.
I was under the illusion if we’re ok given the simplistic routine we do then others would be fine. Apparently not of the 149 farms listed 38 would be suffering a milk price reduction if the penalties were in place today. 4would be losing 3.5p and another 1 losing 4.5p! With one having his milk rejected as of July. Interesting times.

Ok new one on me. What do you calculate to end up at 10.28 solids and what is its relevance?

I'm guessing thats bactoscan you're talking about? or is this something else?

Under500 fine
500-1000 .5p
Over 1000 -1p
Over 1500 -2p
Over 3000 -3p
Over 4500 no pick up

Plus over 1000 you lose the barbers assured 1.5p

Ours is 193 slightly lower since we housed bizarrely
Should there be a 0.5p incentive to be below 250 prehaps? Afterall, your milk blended with some 1000 score milk makes it more usable

No prep, just dry wipe any sh1ty ones?
Yeah almost tempted to go back to a “proper” routine for a few days to see what difference it makes!
Barbers don t do bonuses which suits me. I want as few fixed elements to my milk price as possible. I want the ability to manipulate as much of my milk price as possible. I fought very hard not to have an assured portion at all but they weren’t for moving.

Any mumur of an A+B-C?

Absolutely it gives me an element of control over the price I am paid couldn’t think of anything less motivating than being On a fixed price contract. As to abc
Haven’t heard that mentioned for a while.not surprising as I’m not on the committee anymore. I’m sure it will b revisited as the quality of barbers milk improves less farmers will be negatively affected

Agree was thinking the same about thermodeurics ! A little worrying if fall foul! We got 6 th place this month pleased with solids and ppl but down on last years 7.4 bf!
Heard of a milk company installing data loggers on tanks of there supplying farmers this week that can be remotely accessed by the milk buyer. Also having green and red traffic lights outside the Dairy to indicate if can be green picked up or red not collected. He was not winding up he was in the loop . Interesting times alright

To remotely test what? Thermodeurics test according to video above is a 72 hour test
