It’s true apparently farmers being told they don’t need the milk having given notice by Arla on 150 million litres a year. Can’t see meadow buying any milk in Cumbria in a couple of years

Theres a massive variation within the "Irish fresian" breed. Plenty of them capable of big yields, with as many of them not. It'll depend on what % of holstein blood is in them. There's a wealth of dam data available through www.ihfa.ie. Should give a good indication as to what sort of production a daughter should do.

Fair play to Arla guess it’s going to become more common and the gap between Arla milk price and majority of non aligned standard milk contracts fighting for the scraps is going to get bigger and bigger.
