Theres a massive variation within the "Irish fresian" breed. Plenty of them capable of big yields, with as many of them not. It'll depend on what % of holstein blood is in them. There's a wealth of dam data available through www.ihfa.ie. Should give a good indication as to what sort of production a daughter should do.Which Irish bulls from cogent would work best on a grass based system but still feeding a bit yields around 8000/8500?
