I don't think this notion that what people used to eat out, they now eat in, holds water. I think a lot of folks are more careful to make sure that they make their food goes as far as possible so that they don't have to go out again, and soon because they won't be able to afford to waste it. And the laws of inelastic demand means that just a one percent difference can have a big difference on market price.

going to have one go at this GUTH. Then I’m off to be positive elsewhere.
there aren’t millions that aren’t covered by the schemes. And even they will be allowed either rent or mortgage forgoence for three months. Plus I have no doubt there will be help for sole operating limited companies announced soon.
America is paying 4000 dollars for a month.
The uk is paying potentially £7500 over 3 months a big difference. As far as I am aware only Denmark at 90% is offering more. Our schemes encourage firms not to fire staff where as America had no such encouragement so nearly 8 millions have last there jobs in the last two weeks. Current thinking is this will rise to 20 million over the next month.
As for the price of food congratulations on predicting the future. Now what are you going to do with this knowledge?

OK - 4 litres a day to pay for the robot, but do your cows live on fresh air?? - or do they eat concentrates and need grass/silage,
oh! and what about the cost of raising replacement heifers, the electricity for milking and running the bulk tank?? do you have
hired labour/ relief milker- do they pay you for the privelage of working for you - are you related to ScotchBeef, because you
seem to be using the same calculator/fag packet to do your costings as he does.
You quite obviously didn't sense the sarcasm in my post.

Very convenient for Trump.

It would actually be pretty difficult is this day and age to hide such a death rate. The Chinese tried to hush up the original problem and fairly quickly lost control of the information. There are plenty of Chinese citizens working outside China who would know the reality and plenty of Europeans working in China who would know the reality. Even more to the point Wuhan is the base for a number of European companies.

I think everyone needs to just calm down and try to think a bit more rationally. Too many people see conspiracy when in reality it is just cock up.

That will all happen here if this lockdown goes on for very long!
well we all hope the lock down doesn't last very long. But don't knock the guv to hard, they have an immense problem to find a solution to, and the problem alters every day. They cannot solve every persons income, but they have made an answer to the majority, and are trying to iron out the creases as they occur. If you don't think that's enough, you would seem to be one of a moaning minority, if you don't like it, I would have suggested you emigrate to a better country, but I can't, we are in lock down. This is a time to support the guv, not trying to score cheap points, they are coming up with solutions for a problem that is constantly changing, that the end of, is nowhere in sight, and are putting the country into serious debt. But, if you know better, lets hear your solutions, and see if they are workable, and sensible.

Prepare yourselves for hyper-inflation next year.

The only way our, and other democratic governments can pay for this fiasco is by printing money. The consequence of that is inflation. So if you are able to borrow money now to survive, do so. When prices are doubling every month in 2021 the amount you owe will become halved in value each month. This time next year the price of milk, like all necessities, will be rising on a daily basis.

The governments plan is a shambles.

No help for the self employed for at least 3 months.

130'000 businesses have applied for the loan so far, only 1000 have been approved, the rest have been rejected.

Millions of people don't qualify for the 80% wage or the self employed help, they will have nothing.

Plant shop owners being forced to chuck away millions of ££s worth of plants and no compensation from the government .

And the list goes on...
Well we could have had Corbyn at the helm! :poop:
