The idiots guide to Milwaukee is a bit long so i thought id ask in a new thread.

I sold my metabo cordless grinder last week, for no bad reason only it was the black sheep in the pack so id like to get into a new grinder.
seeing since the rest of the flock is Milwaukee then im leaning that direction unless someone has reason to direct me elsewhere.

im thinking of this in Milwaukee,
i want the paddle switch as ive had enough of the top button on the last one.
id go for the 12Ah battery's but the weight of them...., i don't want to hate using the tool, 9Ah will be heavy enough and if not i have plenty of 5Ah to use if not, its cheaper to buy a kit with 9Ah in it rather than buying later on.

Anyone running the M18CAG125XPDB grinder and if so, how do you find it?
Am i on the right track for a grinder brand/size?

I have two and can't fault them to be honest ,all my cordless tools are Milwaukee ,they run well enough on 5ah battery's ,I treat myself to a 12 ah and it makes an unbelieve difference ,yes it makes it heavier but not to the point of making me not using it. I dont know what the
weight difference is between a 9ah and a 12ah but it won't be massive .just ordered the 9" 18v grinder so we'll see how that's goes.

Cheers lads,
Good reports, sounds like im on the right track at least.
Wont be able to get a price out of my local man until Tue even tho ive asked already but failing that bigred seems to be right enough on the money.

I honestly don't know the weight difference between the 9Ah and the 12Ah, ive held the 12 and it wasn't light so i was hoping the 9 would be somewhat lighter, im never that far away from a charger at the worst of times so I was thinking the 9 would be more of an all rounder.

I’ve never had anything other than the 15ah can’t say I’ve noticed it being overly heavy may not work but try its.co.uk they are still sending out and we’re very competitive when I bought my kit

Awesome tool. Don’t know how we ever managed before having it. Register for extended warranty. Burnt mine out and even with the current goings on they had it collected, repaired and returned within a week. Will struggle to beat powertoolmate for price on them. Nearly brought a second the week mine was away!

They are great , I’m sick of changing from cutting disc to flap wheel so I’m going to get a second one and a 9 amp battery, fully recommend Milwaukee it’s good stuff.

Replaced a broken metabo with a Milwauke. I have a metabo impact gun and it’s brilliant, but the cordless grinder was never impressive. It’s not the brushless one. Think the sof5 start has gone on it, and it’s now dead. Brushes etc all ok. Was intermittent before, the. Slowly died.
Milwaukee is brushless, so it will be better anyway, but well impressed. Keep a flap disc on it for cleaning before welding, buffing welds, burrs etc and it’s lasts for ever. Got it from power tool mate. U don’t need to pay extra for the nut, as it comes with it. I think there was on option on the website for another 6 or 7 quid for the nut.
regarding batteries, I have a 5ah and it’s fine. With the 9 and 12 you have two different battery cells as far as I am aware. Think the 12 and 6 use the new 21700 cells, whereas the 9, 5 etc use the older , still common 18650 cells.
google will reveal all.

If you‘re not worried about a box, you’ll get that for £325+ vat.
again, still only the 115mm. Only difference is the guard.

watch out for some of the kit deals. Sometimes they have the slow charger, or low torque drill, driver etc.
i bought a driver and batteries, then a drill and charger sperartely for cheaper than the advertised bundle. I think £25 cheaper.

i have had the 115mm one for a while now, (3.5years?)

i did have 2 warranty claims on it though were it just stopped and didnt want to work for no good reason?

otherwise its a good tool with the fix tec nut.

you can fit a 125mm x 1mm cutting disc in it too JUST! and almost 125mm flap discs.
You can buy a 125mm guard separately if needed but i not bothered.

Hmm I thought it was just how they are but my nut just won’t undo by hand that little handle has bent trying it ended up buying a universal grinder key to get it off. Have you had any problems with it?

There are 2 versions, the later version is slightly smaller dia.

the old larger one does not work well with dished discs only flat ones. the nut must not catch on the edges of the dish or they are a bugger to undo. and you dont need to ram them up tight as you can by hand either IMO!
