hi just wanting to find best way to mix and get out slurry from slated tsnks curently we are pumping slurry from main tank 150,000gal thru seporator into a permastore 400,000gal we have 2 other cubicle sheds about 100,000gal and other 250,000gal we use nc super 3000 pumps to pump across to main slated tank then up to separator we feel trying to mix the tanks is just a waste of time and money is there a better way as we are loosing space to thick slurry at other end of tank currently thinking of tankering as much as i can out then filling the tanks up with separated liquid permastore has a tap on it then having nc pumps mixing each end of shed and suck the slurry back out again with tanker does any 1 else tried this or somthing else ps cattle will be removed

Av seen them thru slat mixers but never heard of any 1 buying 1 or ever trying 1 good idea mind just cant see it working well in thick slurry and the pain of electric wire

We have just done something similar at work on some slatted tanks in the pig unit. Been shallow tanks 2ft deep at the max but no machine access used umblical hose at a volume washer from slurry tower pump. Took a bit of holding on and fighting but soon moved sediment. On another set of shed did similar but just put hose outlet at far side away from the outlet and pump and let it circulate around and break up that way.

Has any 1 tried putting a jetter on then used umbilicle to pump from 1 end to other end of shed with pipe theory is the liquid would flow round and round and as it moves back to pump it will pull the thick stuff towards the mixer

I need to do somthing as i emptied 1 tank today walked to far end and its only droped 2ft its meant to be 10ft deep ha
would try running umblical hose to far end of the tank away from the pump. Leave it running a few hours might need to add water from separator to it. Did a tank on saturday wasn't ideal as outlet back to reception pit wasn't quick enough flowing but after a couple of hours moved/ loosened, majority of 3ft deep tank just left nozzle in and kept an eye on it.

With access to a tanker could keep adding fresh liquid/ removing slurry from the tank as your doing it.

Sorry I must be missing something, but why not just mix the tanks with the pump before you pump across to your main tank. Why would that be a waste of time and money?

We have tried mixing and then pumping then mixing and pumping just takes forever and soon goes to thick to mix or pump and the mixer only work upto 15ft we also have cattle inside for majority of the year so i dont want to risk gasses or loss production so after a quicker more effective way to mix tanks
