Mobile drier operation for a dummie

Having come from a Continuous flow drier, now have a mobile Masters batch drier. Quick question, how do you determine what grain temp should be set to achieve a given moisture content??
With my old drier, it was easy, just set the air temp and then speed up or slow down the bed chain to get the desired result.
But this mobile is grain temp based, so a bit new.
I had grain at 17.5% in the drier, set the air temp to 90 and the grain temp to 40-45 and after it had shut itself down, I had grain with a moisture content of 15.7% after cooling (to 27 degree) So, I assume I need to raise the grain temp max to lower the moisture content of the dried/cooled grain. The air temp just (I assume) just heats it up quicker and speeds the whole process up.
I did try and speak to the Masters bod but he was at a family funeral so couldnt get any sense that end.
Any other pointers would be welcome!!!

Feed grain up the air temp to 120

Malting barley and OSR it needs to be around 90.

Adjust cereal temp so burner cuts off at around 15-15.5% moisture. Let it cool for a hour or so which will take another 1% or thereabouts out then empty.

Do have a manual but it is just a basic translation of the Italian one I assume, just wiring details, it does list some temps etc.

For your first batch just turn grain temp max right up, sample it till its at 1% above target moisture then turn it back so it switches off automatically. It will generally drop a % while cooling.

Don't turn air temp right up for malting barley or seed, will damage germination.
So by doing this, it will then give me the basic grain temp for what I need, then I can use this temp from then onwards. Will do this tomorrow.

You need to keep a bit of an eye on it. The grain temp setting required will vary based on the temp and moisture of the incoming grain so may need adjusting up or down a notch.

Is it one with the tiddly dials for temps? @Chae1 is spot on with his instructions.
Set air temp to the type of crop ie feed wheat, seed barley etc, grain temp is moisture control. You may also have to swap nozzles depending on air temp setting.

No, it's one of those new, all singing all dancing digital display things, but I can adjust the grain temp up/down in manual mode, so should be able to do as Chae1 suggests and I would think it would work the same

Was it new this year? The touch screen ones have a lot of the setting built in so you just select your crop, which then alters the air and safety temps accordingly.
