Mobile phone signal booster

Has anyone any experience with these signal boosters?

Around home and the yard there is no reception at all, upstairs in the bedroom window with the phone held up really high against the glass and we get some semblence of signal so got to thinking about improving it.

I have been searching the 'net and it lists a raft of options, anyone any experience on this and what do you find easy to install and most effective solution? - maybe backfill the yard to bring the level up to the bedroom window height?

what network are you on?
Many networks do wifi calling - id go this way next time.
Vodafone do a "suresignal" which works really well (I have one) though over a small area.
Many of the signal boosters on ebay and the likes are not allowed, and im not sure how good they are.

Vodafone do WiFi calling which should work on any WiFi network, Suresignal only works near the box.
You need to contact Vodafone to enable WiFi calling though.

I'm with "Giff Gaff" Their service is good for my purposes , except just where I need it most , in my kitchen , where I spend most of my time . I can of course quit Giff Gaff at the end of the month with no penalty . Question -- How can I check that the service from a new provider would be better without signing up for an extended period

WiFi calling is the dogs whatsits, as long as you have decent broadband speed. If you clear that hurdle it's easy to get a WiFi signal round the house.yard & buildings using wired and or wireless links.
EE support WiFi calling on all their contracts. Vodafone limit it to higher priced contacts , or they did last time I checked.

Check the signal on friends phones when they call in --------. Oh bugger, no one calls in anymore due to covid. Cheap pay as you go Sims from different providers probably the best way. Sometimes find Sims with some free usage on them - enough to see if the service is any good.

And you need a specific phone.... :-(
But thats also true of Suresignal as I tried to buy one for my Mums Doro phone with big calculator buttons. Wont work, said the man behind the counter, sure signal works with 3G, "and the Doro dont 'ave it" ?
You can still buy a suresignal, but as mentioned, Vodafone would rather you paid for a top end tariff with WiFi calling.

WiFi calling is ok if you stand still but if you want to walk out of the office and jump in the car it will die which is really frustrating.

car boosters are illegal and dnot really work.

only option is WiFi really
