Looks like lots of sink holes where the moles have collapsed?

Mole drained 31/5/23 and then ploughed 1/7/23. Didn’t get it drilled with wheat due to weather (110mm rain from Storm Babet).

I had a mole when i farmed in the UK. Clay land in leics and it worked well. I brought it here to France, along with all my kit, and tried it here. I get exactly that wherever I try it here. Actually I had some much larger holes than that 😬

24 inches is plenty deep enough for moleing in danger of disturbing drains

I have dug down to check moleing and porous back fill depth
mole at 20 inches as that was into all the back fill
my father usually put backfill to 10 inches as it usually settles down
on one field with clinker back fill it had settled to 20 inches

old drains can be as shallow as 10 inches in unsubsoiled land
