wow 5% that must be killing them. Bit of an insult. For my £180 shop £9 off (quick me) Id rather line the pockets of local veg box schemes. I use Ocado too amazing delivery and good quality.

5% will be more than their gross margin though, I’d guess. Tesco has a gross profit of 3.5% of turnover and I suspect Morrison is similar.

They're currently doing discount for NHS at 10% currently upto sometime in July.

Prices have gone up and the offers gone though

Wife gets 10% NHS discount so the farmers card went in the bin.
I do hope the small independent grocers and butchers have a long term revival after the virus lockdown is over.
Having such a small number of mega retailers means our food security is incredibly fragile, the gov should make it a priority to revive the sector. The big multiples should be broken up with no single business being able to hold more than 10% market share.
