Well it depends on what you class as big, but if you bought one, which of the top four big brands did you go for?

Any why?

We are expecting to see a lot of new models at Agritechnica so interesting to see what is top of the TFF list currently.

T7, down to price, previous good experience with the brand and excellent local dealer.

There are better tractors out there, but service we get from dealer would make it hard to go past them.

Didn't buy it from them, bought a ex demo tractor from platts harris in Newark.

T7 seems to be the popular choice so far.

You should probably have put t7 HD.

T7s range from 190 i think. Thats before boost. So a lot wider range of hp covered. I know it says at top 270 +. Mines just a 260.

I’m off to the factory in a couple of weeks for another look round and hopefully see what they are doing for Agritechnica.

I bought a valtra 254 which puts out 270 , versu transmission , one year on and 1250 hrs it has been an outstanding tractor with not one issue , very good on fuel and very comfortable , also was €40k less than a fendt 724.

It is incredible that an NH T7 leads the classification. I guess it has a lot to do with its manufacturing location.
Without acrimony, I only manifest an idea that I consider quite general

Two contractors near here have had several issues with Valtra174s including adblue and electrical faults.
Perhaps there wasn't enough about before to be aware of.

I’ve only driven the optum out of the four,in my opinion case/Nh has the best engine of the four,so for me it’s blue or red,not as well finished as the fendt or Deere but better value.

Depending of the outcome of brexit, New Holland could be in a nice position with regard to production in the UK. However when I last visited the factory they explained that most of the parts come in from Europe so they would have issues with parts come brexit. I would imagine that are holding a lot of parts right now!

I am not surprised really because the Case Optum hasn't been well received due to the cost. I think its a bit of a dead duck for them with loyal Case buyers. Our local dealer is still sat on the demo machine they had 2 years ago and the Puma's boost to 270hp whilst offering a more manoeuvrable machine. For out an out lugging they go for the tried and tested Magnum so the Optum is in no mans land really. One local guy said that the Magnum 310 was cheaper than the Optum 300 by quite a chunk. I don't know about individual specifications but he bought the Magnum.
The Fendt 800's have never been as popular as the 700's and reliability is a concern.
The JD7R early models have given this line up a bad name. They were so bad with reliability that the new ones, which probably are sorted are suffering with sales. I know our local JD dealer is selling 6250R's where it would normally want to sell 7R's. Customers won't take the risk. I personally know of two 7230R and one 7280R which have cost literally thousands in repairs. JD have helped to an extent with repair costs but its still left the three owners well out of pocket. I think there are plenty of others with big problems with these models where as the 6R's seems fairly bullet proof other than the general complaint they feel down on power.
