Most reliable/ strongest quad bike for farm use.

Did you find it drank fuel when it got older? When I had 1 in 2004 it was incredible and would do circa 85-90km per tank, after 7 years it was down to 50km/tank.
Cracking bikes though!
We had a 2007 manual. When it got to about 55000 km it started drinking a hell of a lot and the float needle had worn thin. Replacement only lasted a few months because of the other surfaces being worn as well so the carb had to be replaced. Vast improvement but I rolled it gathering the hill and it got written off.

Have a 2015 can am that's just died. Last time I checked it had 85,000km on it. Regularly maintained hauling a 1000l 60 teat calf feeder plus calf trailer plus usual running around. Pretty unreal kms was expecting it to be done 2 years ago. No major fails just electrical niggles like switch gear etc. Would buy another but currently running a jimny and Mazda ute instead

My old 2010 500 drinks loads more now than it used to. Think it has 32k on it, bikes don’t do much now as Ranger gets used for everything. It’s clocked up 6k miles in 8 months. Neighbour went to change his 2 year old Honda and an old tidy 500 was stood in the garage, only had 400 hours on it and mint condition. Offered the dealer Straight swap for his 2 year old one and a new set of maxis thrown in and after some humming and haring he agreed. He hated the new ones.

So I expect you’re going to buy your sheep man something better then……..
This looks good for chasing sheep

Dunno I’m not ringing up for a price I’d probably crash a 70mph buggy 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣me too, I can’t see the tyres lasting long at that speed. Had a couple of gators a few years ago…..still partially deaf because of them and don’t want another diesel…….a petrol although totally impractical would be nicer to drive.

We demoed a kubota a few years back and dad loved it until you pulled onto the road then it was horrible.. and embarrassingly slow up croglin hill

Ive seen a friend of mine fill up his can am buggy that’s on lpg and he had a tank set up in the yard and a hand pump to fill up so actually more practical than petrol cans once your set up 🤔

Hi all
We've got a New Gen Polaris 570 quad
12 months old and so far so good goes like a stabbed rat!
A good spec for a basic machine...LED lights, built in indicators and road legal as standard would consider powersteering next time but that jest me getting older!🥵
Had 2 Suzuki King Quad's 300 over the years great machine's shame they stoped making them😢

Holly cows you sure your a dairy farmer not a machinic? 85K km on the bike I have friends who have 50k on a bike but it's knacked and needs a rebuild. We are struggling to get 20 k out of the honda's before they need to rebuild. We have staff using them and there behind the cows almost every day which probably does not help. The employee on the beef blocks uses his bike primary for cheeking stock and doing water and if he had not drowned it would have done more than the 20k. But we will probably see more bikes like that here since the big bike brands have pulled their quad lines and people are trying to keep their honda's going!

We have a Ranger 570 too. 1000 hours fault free on a busy mixed farm. After the 1000 though not so much. Here's the list. Steering ball joints. Onto the third set now. Handbrake and gearshift cables. Brake pads. Engine big end rebuild. Top end rebuild because it dropped a valve 200 hours after the bottom was done. Timing chain tensioner and guard rails. Too many suspension bushes to count. 4wd hardy spicers. Due gone after new year. Undecided on the replacement. A tremendously useful but soft machine.

I've had a mate come round specially to check cause he didn't believe me. It was riden by females predominantly when doing stock work etc which probably helped. Been through a few belts etc but engine and gearbox have been pretty sound started using a drop of coolant in the last few months

Had a mates dad had a Can-am loved it to bits and I'm told she would fair fly if you wanted to. There issue was that the dealer is 100kms away and when you do almost 20km's a day the belts needed changing a bit too often for there liking but i don't think they ever had any other issues with it.

20km a day (12.5miles) I don't think that's asking much
