Moving a static caravan?

Never had anything to do with them....

How feasible is it to tow one a short distance up a farm track where it would be a problem for a wagon to access, but not an issue to tow with a tractor or 4WD?

Been asked about one as a temporary office...

Not a problem. We had a static home delivered in two halves, each 3.5 m wide by 12m long approx. Lorry parked on road side to unload and they had a Land-rover to tow it into our drive and about 350m up to where it was sited in a field. So long as its mainly "off highway" as the tyres and axles are just for positioning really.
Ours was ex demo so relatively new. Two years later when we had finished renovating it went out the same way.

Cheers that all sounds positive enough...

we bought 1 10 yrs ago, moved it on 4wks ago, took 3 hours to load, onto a tractor/trailor, which had driven 80 odd miles to get here, the other end, to wide to fit down the lane, thankfully, not our problem.
We have another one here, no draw bar though, not sure what we will do with that, flatten, and bury ?

Just check the wheel bearings first if it’s more than a few years old! Had one here that only moved 10feet and bearing collapsed!! Managed to wack a piece of scaffold tube in between wheel and stub axle to act as a bush and put bolt and washer back on and it travelled ok then 🙈🙈🙈

It was a few years ago but had one we needed to move round into position. I found it better on your 4x4 clutch if you use a tow ball on the tractor drawbar instead. I was quick to quit my 1st attempt to reverse it, off road, uphill and round a corner at a speed below the minimum offered by the 4x4 gearbox.
