Muck fork tines

have got a little project to do, basically have an ageing strimech fork for the handler and there is only about 3 tines left on it, looking for 10 - 12 tines to completely re tine it but not looking to spend silly money as only used to push up twigs when hedging and as a buck rake when doing our long hauls and need all the tractors!

Anyone got a heap with sleeves they don’t need, or hardox?
Would also consider a fork complete preferably on q-fit brackets
Budget of around £500 which ever way it’s done
Cheers

I went through this when wanting a little muck fork for the Kramer.

We had an old fork laid about, but it needed repair to the bottom box section and several tines.

Ended up buying an elderly but decent grab for less than £300.
Had all it's tines but needed pipes.

Better than spending £500 rebuilding the fork.

Ok, so I just checked eBay... guess the article was a while old, as forks seem to be making about 100 quid... but I bet you could pick up some worn ones cheap from a forklift hire company etc????

I may have a go at it!!

There’s loads for sale in places like York and Cambridge sales. They’re technically scrap once the heel wears to a certain size but often end up painted and passed off as new. Generally make minimum £50/pair.

Pallet tines are brilliant. @Grassman had one of his good ideas to get his friendly local engineer to fabricate some digger brackets onto a pair. One fork left at full length to use as a digger powered crow bar. The other cut off at a foot long to a point and the corner filled in to use as a really thin but deep trenching bucket.
Worked a treat and a really good idea but don’t tell him

Genius!!

We had a set of tines on our CAT 318 excavator... the operator used to abuse the hell out of those... managed to snap them off the headstock many a time !

Sorry for the delay. 25mm 500 will be better than 30mm 400.
If I taper them from 60mm down to 20mm I'm sure they will be stronger than a conus 2 fitting tine. 500 is a very strong, springy steel which should match hardox 450 even after cutting.
It will need 100mm horizontal and vertical weld to your frame. The calculated weight will be 10kg each so £40.00 each plus £50.00 delivery.
