That's the series which tells the story of belt and bracer bred cattle I think ,meaning they only come up to your waist, and were bred small as small carcase weights were most needed so it's not just modern day slaughter houses and supermarkets that call the tune.what goes around comes around

I still watched it all the same, even as a repeat from 2009. Tescos liason dairy girl saying even then, "weve learned lessons, and will guarantee a cost of production price" (some aspiration that,to work for). Hope the farmer has since earned enough to improve his buildings, they looked tired . Would be interesting to know how they are getting on now,and the Guernsey herd.

Compulsory viewing. Perfectly encapsulating how UK ag has been fecked by the CAP and supermarkets. The one with the tomato grower very nearly brings tears to my eyes.

Didn’t realise it was a repeat series. Very good non e the less though. The Dairy industry overview was very interesting. Good to see things from this historic perspective as we all naturally get bogged down with the current day situation. Supermarkets have introduced the public to a huge array of different food in the last 30 years it is no wonder some of the staple things seem old fashioned. People seem to buy food like they buy fashion. Think of rice and pasta to name but two! Not many places selling pizzas in the 70’s were there?
