Mueller Me joystick assigning functions

I've got the above joystick connected up in a T7 along with a Kuhn rake but I'm having issues trying to assign the functions to the buttons.

I'm not sure if there's a setting somewhere I haven't got right or I'm not pressing something. I've tried changing everything that I can see but it makes no ods. It's loaded on the VT settings screen and the functions are there to be assigned they just won't go onto any buttons I press!

I've checked AEF and there's 2 versions of the joystick but only 1 is compatible with this setup however if I'm getting as far as I am trying to configure it I'm assuming it's the right version as they are already talking?

When I'm in learn mode I can't get the blue/white X to change, I'm assuming that should be getting assigned to whatever button I press when learn is activated?

Should I be seeing it on the VT tab on the last picture?

No I haven't tried again after, I was hoping someone might have told me I was doing it wrong! Is there any chance I didn't leave it plugged in long enough to load into the VT pool? I seem to remember the rake taking ages the first time so I went for a brew.

Did u get this working, normally for AUX-n the joystick would upload a VT pool as well

I had another go at this yesterday and found out why I couldn't get it to load in the VT pool. As soon as it was plugged in it was powered up regardless if the tractor was on or off so I had to unplug it and then hold button 2 for 5 seconds after plugging it back in. So i can now see it in the VT pool and get in to change settings however it still wont let me configure any buttons in the Aux control menu
