Murray grader

Anyone using one of these? How do you get on with it? We have a mile of farm track to maintain and I’m starting to feel the strain of shovelling scalpings to fill in pot holes and think this might be an easier way to maintain the track by keeping a camber on it and preventing the pot holes from forming in the first place. Your thoughts and experiences would be appreciated.

Will work fine @chester, you'll have the added bonus of being able to hire it out or do a bit of contract road grading locally to cover the expenditure or share purchase with neighbours ?, tips are replaceable, rake angle can be set to whatever camber you want, they are a solid well made piece of machinery

Our neighbour bought a new Murray grader 18 months ago, it makes a fantastic job.

His is just the standard unit, no teeth or roller but still makes a very impressive surface. If the road surface has been badly washed then he takes a bucket of tar planings with him on the loader and dribbles them out where required then grades with the Murray on the back.

@chester Murray gear is not cheap but is very well made. Our neighbour says that what he is saving on "road material" will more than pay for the machine through it's life span

I've had a basic one for a few years - no teeth or hydraulic tilting.
It's very well built and makes a great job. Saves me a fortune in road planeings as it redistribute the high spots to the low. Would def recommend it.
