Badger.

It's a badger. That ridge along the top of the skull and the hinged jaws confirm it.

The ridge also make the skull very tough, so it is difficult to spade them to death.

Ok now I know you all seem certain it's a badger and I would agree.....however I've been told by a man who knows wildlife that it's a pine martin. But reckon he's wrong.

I very much doubt it’s Pine Martin, those teeth are very robust and of our native animals, they could surely only belong to a Badger. Now we can see the top of the skull, it seems confirmed.
