Need a basic book for cars like a Haynes just for 'cars'

The boss and the boys are over hauling some modern cars in the workshop to resell

Struggling with terminology and exact parts names. Just need a simple book like a Haynes that will do for all the components of a modern car before I spend my time returning wrong items. Particularity for the suspension etc.

Any good ones that would suit a woman with basic knowledge. Must have lots of good quality pictures

Don't know of any books but if you want to send me pics of parts will give you the names to order them and you'll soon get the hang of it (y)

I would search YouTube and other forums for the model of car and the rough location/components of what they are working on. Usually very helpful because most people have done it before and posted their success/failures for all to see!

I have always bought a parts manual for the various LR products I have owned (birthday/ Xmas presents). They show how everything fits together, with parts numbers and alternatives you can fit. You can write down the part numbers and plonk them down in front of the parts manager, who asks you suspiciously "where did you get these from ?" He will then tell you that Land Rover have replaced all their part numbers since you bought the manual and he will have to spend hours looking up the correct numbers.

Sorry, maybe it's just me, but if they don't know the basic names of parts, to pass that information on too you, do they actually know what they are doing, do they know how to set up suspension etc. You mentioned on another thread, about a laptop so they could watch youtube videos of how to do jobs, having seen some of these videos, where it's very obvious that the person posting doesn't have much idea. The fact you are selling these vehicles on, all sounds a bit of a liability.
