Never see a poor dairy farmer?

I was talking to my old accountant, he was saying that a client of his who has a dairy has an electric bill of around a 1000 a month. Where l stay there is maybe 7/8 dairy, none that big maybe 130 cows milking, but these guy want for nothing, New sheds every 2/3 years , concrete roads/yards, New machinery, tractors etc and tons& tons of fertilizer. And they say dairying does not pay. Is this the same all over the UK ? Or do they have a good banker.

Last summer l went in to a dairy farm near me, it was in June, and in one shed a beat there was 40 ton of 20/10/10. That would be the second load that year. Most also have a dairyman and two others have a robot . They are not cheap. Fair play to them but l don't know what they would buy if milk was a good trade because there alway complaining is not dear enough as they drive of in there 17 reg hi lux .

Always remember a man telling me that there was no mysteries in life. It's true of farming.

Either the men your talking about, are hard working and have been really clued in to thier job over a long period of time, deserving all that they get. Or the bank has let them in too far and doesn't know what to do with them. Who knows thier great aunt Sally might have left them a million. It doesn' really matter what the story is, best not to look over the hedge to often......

Never see the point of this assumption really, if you do 50+ hours a week, why should you be poor for it, nevermind the mental strain you go through to keep the plates turning which is uncosted

In every walk of life now there is alot of Fur coat and no knickers, you'll drive yourself crazy working out what the neighbours doing
