I don't think 10 inch is too wide. Most of the US and Canada spring drill at 10.
I did a trial this year between a vady on pre cultivated land and the dale.

The caddy looked better but the mulika yielded 5,5 tonne ha on both plots although I was not expecting that at all. It's very deceiving.

Interested to read that your spring wheat only managed to yield circa 5.5 tons/ha which is exactly what we achieved....Last year it was nearer 7.5 tons/ha.. I think drilling technique has very little to play in the final outcome.. its all down to weather and the presence of pests (such as Gout Fly)

We went too long without a decent rain, however i did get £157 for it so, so that made up some.

I am finding also that the mulika isn't the best and is really tricky to thrash properly. Am thinking of reverting back to tybalt. What varieties were yours Jim

Tybalt...! We did have some spring sown Belepi which yielded much the same buy obviously went for feed @ £107/ton so not such a good margin.

More like it ! So 25 milling min plus £10 for spring total £35 ?
I don't think the facility to fix minimum was offered, so it'll be about twenty total at the mo. It was only available on mulika I think.

I'll let willy fill you in more as he's got the contract, I'm just remembering what was on offer and could be wrong.

Sold for November, but the base price was £120. I sold it in Feb I think.

I've already sold for £122 next October plus premiums for next year. Not great but at the moment I really don't see much uplift and I can't afford much down turn.
