New Farm Hoover.

Hi there nice people & Happy New Year to you all.Hope 2020 is more normal than the wet stinker 2019 was...awful.!
I need advice.
The good lady-(who must always be obeyed),needs a new hoover for the house. It's a busy, dusty farm with cats, dogs, kids n wellies coming n going-you get the picture?
Soo,in past we have had many different makes. The last was a Panosonic,bagless.1800w motor. It was great. But they don't make them any more! Good sucking on it. I would often 'pimp' it with a full system flush...with the airline,to restore to near 'factory condition'!!
Unfortunately, the chassis and rotors components have shook themselves to bits. I am very sad.
Soo,I notice now that many motors of manufactures have low wattage! I know we need to save the world, but, all we need is a good hoover to do the job.
I have heard mixed reports from many makes.
What does everyone use.
Please help.
Thanks very much

Anything from Aldi/Lidl. Fraction of the price of mainstream brands and usually work well. Come with 3 yrs warranty usually too... Got a little 50 quid rechargeable from Lidl a few months ago which is great, as good as stuff 3x the price!

Herself got a mains Shark last week and is impressed with the crap it's collecting, AFTER she has been over with the old Dyson. I have suggested getting a complete brush and filter set for the old girl, as you can only clean the filters so much. Might well get the permission now!!

The Shark has a tiny collection box though and the ergonomics are poor, with all the weight high up.

Our Dyson DC33 'Hoover'...:).. does it all here. Recently been doing a great job clearing up building dust and rubble after two other bag type, so called heavy duty machines, just kept blocking. Just need access to an air line to give it a good clean it out occasionally. I'm sure Sir James would welcome your business.

Dyson do a good job but are built to break: flimsy clips, rollers on the head that stop turning etc. Parts are very expensive too. Henry is the boy but make sure you get the rotating brush for dog hairs and a box of bags. I hate sticking my hands in a bagless to pull a ball of dog hair and sweet wrappers out...... what a fecking stupid idea!!

I’m in the same position.
I have a 25 year old Dyson .DC01 and it is getting tired - and brittle. I also have a Dyson V6 for light work and stairs. Fiddly, filters fiddly, battery doesn’t last very long. Don’t like it.

You won’t get anything over 900w now since the .EU decreed we should not have such powerful vacuums. Bless.

I’m looking at an upright corded Dyson, or an upright corded Shark. (Not the one that breaks in the middle). No batteries.
I think.

Not true.
Ordered a Nilfisk for myself, not arrived yet but I expect it to be better than a Dyson.
Henry make bigger than 900W too, they are good.

You mean someone lied? Even Dyson?

Are house has has 2 dogs and theres always a mess. The cordless however gimicy it seams is handy just to grab and go and not worry bout a flex.
It probably would die with anything more than that.

We have a corded shark not bad turn the brushes of for hard floor or its bloody loud. Yep and thats right about the weight being high up.
Also a x4 sebo automatic not bad Vac.
The purple dyson dog vac think it has an extra hepa filter pretty powerful old thing not sure why i got passed to me.
