New Fendt 724 issues

Looking for some advice with my brand new Fendt 724 Gen 6.

It arrived before Christmas and did not get to use it until after in the new year. Managed to do some ploughing and with only 8.5 hrs on the clock it had a breakdown where 2 bolts came loose and pushed off the timing belt. This required a new belt which was fitted by Chandlers quickly and only took a couple of hours.

It has now just done some 52 hrs and has had its 50 hr service on Saturday.

The engineer noticed an oil leak on the engine and has advised me that they will need to remove the engine to fix the leak as it needs resealing. The last time they did something similar Fendt ( AGCO) just replaced the engine.

What are my rights with this and what would everyone else do in this situation??

Concerned that removing engine will not only disturb paint work and spill oil over new tractor which will accumulate rust and dust. Also no engineer is perfect and will it be as good as one from the factory??

If they are fixing the problem or replacing the engine then id say u dont have any rights further than this as theyv rectified the problem so what more can they be expected to do. As far as paint getting damaged u can insist that they touch it in again which they should do no probs and oil spilt can be washed off, same as if u had a burst pipe on an implement covering the tractor it wouldnt ruin the tractor

Wouldn’t worry about a bit of spilt oil and dust sticking! You have warranty and at the end of the day it’s a tractor, they spend most of their life dirty! If it keeps giving problems then trade it in. I had a new Valtra and traded it in after 18 months as it constantly had issues.

I'd just ask for a replacement tractor, engine shouldn't need replacing at those hours.

Just make sure you put it in writing that you are very disappointed at the damage to paintwork caused by removing the engine from a new tractor - once the paint has been damaged undoing new primer/ top coated bolts/nuts no amount of touching up is going to hide the fact that many bolts/nuts have been removed and retightened. They may come back to offer a sweetner of some kind.

Yes probably is the fan belt. Didnt come fully off but caused a vast amount of error codes.

Update from Dealer is that it is the rear crank shaft seal and requires 2 days in the workshop. Fendt say it is not their issue but Deutz's fault... Typical!!

Mine was the same, dealer took the cab off to fix it, after the warranty ran out it started leaking again and still does. Not a lot but leaves drips on the floor everywhere :banghead::banghead::banghead::poop::cry:
