New Grain Shed

Hey
So im away to build a new grain store on the farm.
Was looking at about 48m x 24m and about 6m high at the eaves.
Potentially want to do something with a grain drier/drying floor using biomass but that's for the future.
Does anyone have any bits of advice or things to avoid?

That's a big shed. Yes definitely go taller.

Advice - cost up everything! Putting up a shed this size will eat into even a large budget. What's the site like? What's there at the moment. Will you need to do a lot of groundworks or add stone to get it level?

It would probably work out cheaper to make it 50 foot wide and a few more bays longer as once u go over 50foot u either need alot stronger H iron or center beams which presumably isnt wanted so unless u need it this width id price it both ways. Also id consider gettin it galvanised as itl last for a good few generations

Exemption from full pp application for up to 1000 sq m (used to be 500) if the site meets the qualifications, put in forms and plans, if not replied to within 28 days a full application is not required. Won’t work for livestock buildings if close to houses though iirc?

I get you.
I have a very basic provisional planning application in right now. My friend put it in and said he doen't believe there will be any issues. Once i get my plans all sorted i guess i will have to get PP. We shall see.
