Agricultural services firm Wynnstay has announced the appointment of David Howard as its new head of dairy services.
Overseeing the team of specialists, Mr. Howard will be responsible for driving a new strategy for Wynnstay’s dairy services, while continuing to provide the best advice, support and products for customers.
Track record
Howard joins the company having worked in the UK ruminant feed industry for over 12 years, following studying at Harper Adams University.
His previous experience also includes working as technical manager for a large mineral and supplement business, as well as a ruminant nutritionist within the compound feed and blends sector.
Howard has specialised in key areas such as robotic milking, lameness and transition cow management, and is a qualified Cow Signals master trainer.
Speaking on his appointment, he said he looked forward to leading the direction of Wynnstay’s dairy strategy.
“In these challenging and uncertain times for the industry, we need to ensure we continue to support our customer’s every need,” he said.
As much as we are currently restricted from extensive visits on-farm, as a team, we’re working remotely to support our customers and access all of the data which we would usually be analysing on-farm, such as milk records and diet plans.
“The industry is ever-changing, with farming as a whole at the forefront of consumers’ minds. For dairy businesses, there are challenges to face with milk price uncertainty and production changes but it’s a resilient sector.
“The Wynnstay dairy specialists and I will remain a constant, to support our customers with services and products which fit their business’ strategy.”
