New Highway code rules ffs

Some seemed to be going out of their way to prove a point yesterday, this one used the left turn lane to undertake everything that had been waiting at the lights, then as the lights went green he moved right to the middle of the road so nothing could pass.....

Although the cars could have easily got past him on the left if you look carefully

Then for some reason, he seemed to be getting a bit irate that I has still following him closely over a mile further on..............He's probably on some bike forum complaining about it by now:ROFLMAO:
Well Derrick says he should move over or report him, 😂😂😂, yeah right, the police will drop everything to have a word with someone who is totally unidentifiable.

Sorry, but the message is the headline, and the headline is that cyclists and pedestrians (and horse riders) have more rights than motorists, but without any more responsibilities.
Derrick is correct, some of the original rules put out now have the words changed from what I read a few weeks back, rule 74 now says not to undertake a vehicle indicating to turn turning left or slowing down at a junction, so some responsibility is being placed back to the cyclist.

Oft been said on here that, after struggling for miles to pass a cyclist, once you get to the next junction or set of lights, they come past and get to the front of the queue. Little wonder then that we have shedloads of irate drivers, many of them who think as a post on FB said today …. ‘It’s patently obvious that the new changes to the Highway Code were written by an eight year old who just got a new bike’
Whats good for the goose is good for the gander. If they are free to take centre lane at lights and junctions then that’s where they should remain, not undertaking or overtaking stationery vehicles to get to the front of the queue, only to cause more tailbacks. Problem is that rewritten rule 163 states that cyclists ‘may pass slow moving or stationary vehicles on the right or left’
Not illegal or set down in any rules that a vehicle may not occupy a position 100mm away from the kerb whilst in the left hand lane at lights.

Not sure what you’re getting at, sorry. Nothing (apart from the throwaway “considerate” at the start) there stops a solo cyclist from holding back a mile of cars, just because, and yet plenty tells them they have every right to do so.
The undue care and attention solves that, as I said about 20 pages ago. Same as stopping anyone who is holding traffic up unnecessarily, it just needs enforcing.

Cyclists should all have a registration plate
That way they can be identified in an incident
Wallets, armbands with a name makes more sense.

Or are you making some sort of sick joke?

Obviously I don't know the wider layout here - but that manoeuvre was acceptable in the old rules and has nothing to do with the highway code changes.

That is, filtering on left or right was allowed before (see thousands of cycle lanes on the left hand side of lanes leading to ASL boxes in front of traffic lights all over the country).

Is it allowed to filter in a lane that’s specifically marked as “left return only”?
