Has anyone changed the cam track on a new Holland 376 hayliner before and how much of a job is it? Cam rollers gave up last year and chewed up the cam track so it need stripping down and rebuilding.

Never done a 376 but checked my book on 920-935, remove l/h guard, remove drive shaft from pick-up centre shaft, remove 3 tine guards from each side of pick-up, remove all cam rollers, remove cotter pins each side, clean off paint on centre shaft, slacken bearing lock rings the purpose is to knock shaft back enough to clear cam track and remove. i would suggest once if any paint is removed give a good soaking in diesel a few days before job.

Thanks, that's great info. I don't think there is likely to be to much paint to remove. Probably more rust and the locking collars.on the bearings may be interesting as I expect there the original ones. Plenty of penetrating oil and diesel.

If you have never removed those lock collars before remember to slacken grub screw off first then knock collar in same direction of shaft rotation to loosen, unless someone has been there before in which case it may be opposite direction....

it will

be a hard job with 35 years of rust!!
our 276 did similar and i relined/rebuilt the cam track in situ rather than spend weeks taking it apart

I have thought of doing similar myself. But as the baler is at another building I have 5 miles away I was just thinking of getting a new cam track for easier fitting. Looks like it will be a back to the workshop job anyway so I may just rebuild the old one.

Have you taken any land out of production from last autumn?
