New Holland 376 Rail adjustment

Hi there
I`ve made new rails for my 376 baler.
The manuel do not describe how to adjust/shim them.
only says I have to do it before adjusting the plunger.
Are there any how to do this out there?
Anyone know of a manuel that tells you how to do it?
I guess the right hand rails are no brainer but the left hand rail can be adjustet alot up and down.

What you have to remember is on all small balers the plunger should be square to the chamber, so plunger should be checked for roller wear, then moving knife set to roller's, chamber rail's adjusted to stop plunger moving about to much, biggest problem is rust which can make the chamber rail's uneven and distortion of chamber due to age and wear so aim for best possible adjustment as you will find that the plunger may be loose and tight in different spot's... here is information.. the last copy is from my note's from 1976.

thank you. that will come in handy.
I`ve already removed all rust, and changed all bearings.
I guess I will have to adjust the left hand rail with the plunger mounted (knife parallel)
remove plunger again and tjek the rail is parallel to balechamber. (I don`t think I can do this with plunger mounted)
and retjeck with plunger mounted again.

Should I adjust plunger bearings before i adjust the lefthand rail
or maybe before AND after.

Plunger is adjusted on the bench, the aim is to get both knives very close but not touch, and to be square to each other, it's more than likely you may have to adjust stationary knife by putting odd amount's of shims at top and middle just make sure that this knife do's not protrude above the side bottom rail nearest the feeder, this is all done after you have adjusted plunger..

How can I adjust plunger on the bench when I have to adjust the rollers according to the rails.
this is the plunger with 5 adjustable rollers and 4 fixed.

Newer mind.
I see. The bottom roller C is fixed. therefore I can adjust the left hand rail to make the knifes parallel.
And adjust sideways clearence (A and B roller) after.
and then top rail last.

I should have said adjust knife on plunger with shims to rollers or rollers to knife before refitting plunger..

got some mod's and settings if you want them

Would you be open to giving some help on setting up rails on a nh65 e. I’ve just made some new wooden slides/ bearers but we are struggling to reset the small guide on the knife side. We don’t know if it should be flush with static knife in which case wooden slides are way to wide. Or if the guide rail and it’s spacer are inset the wooden bearer looks as if it will hit the knife. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes flush or only just below if you don't have any shims behind stationary knife and it's still above rail the rail is worn if so you may be lucky to get bolts out to remove it or shim it, plunder knife is shimmed to be flush with your
new rail so when set up they only miss each other by max of 25thou.
