Western power don't turn up for less than 10k!
I was afraid what they would charge me to move supply from our old dwelling to the new build. About 60m or so, an underground waterproof joint (done live!) and move the meter and connect in the new house. They supplied materials but I dug in their ducting. Single phase.
Happy enough when the quote was £1100.
Different to a new connection though I guess.

If the pole was on your land why no put the meter there in a little shed built to their spec and then go from there yourself. Bound to save a fortune on the cost of them doing it.
If the land is not yours maybe the owner would give you wayleave at a reasonable cost.
I did that, they came off a pole under a byway into my box, 15metres at most, £6.5k :(.

We would have been about 5k for 100m. Got a shock though, got a cheque back for 2100 as it didn't cost as much as they had quoted for. Sse so they aren't all bad.

I paid 11k for 230m 6 years ago, all trenches taping and sand bed around cable done by me, got around £6000 back tho as there was a maximum amount they could charge for a domestic property and timed the work while they were changing a transformer next to the site

Some of these prices make Power NI sound almost reasonable. I paid 1700 for a new connection recently. 110m dug and duct supplied by myself, luckily the transformer could cope with the extra dwelling.
