Not sure why they werent folded up, I cant fold them up on my deere, they catch the mower brackets for the mower chains.
Same with our nh. It's safe as long as you don't lift arms right up with them folded up. Then it hits mower chain bracket.

They need a bar on them if folded down all the time.

I have a bar for mine, I think that pic was when the NH was new, maybe even the demo one so we wouldnt have a black bar for it.

How do the NH comparr to the Deeres on fuel @Fraserb ??

Depends on the job, when we had the NH on demo leading grass it was over 15% better than my 6210R, it seems better on the plough as well although we've never had them in the same field so difficult to compare exactly,the 6210R seems ok on fuel when working hard but drinks copious amounts on lighter jobs.

Interesting!! Contractor that dose our ploughing has a T7.185 auto command,said it was way better on fuel than the 150R auto power that he had on demo,pulling same plough..
